All about safety: the Emergencies Ministry’s center of safety holds classes for expectant mothers

Classes for young and expectant mothers on the eve of Mother’s Day are held at the Educational Center of safety of the Ministry of Emergency Situations. This is a joint project of the Emergency Ministry Safety Center and the Health Committee of Minsk City Executive Committee. Its realization was also supported by the Union of Women of the Ministry of Emergency Situations.

― Such classes are aimed at preventing child traumatism and death of babies from external causes,” said Elena Parchuk, chairwoman of the organization. — It is important to realize that the health and life of the child depends on the parents, so it is very important to prepare the home for such a responsible stage of life as the birth and growing up of a child.

During the classes, inspectors of the Center of safety teach expectant mothers how to act correctly in emergency situations, to provide first aid to victims of emergencies, as well as to use the primary means of fire extinguishing.

On the example of a living room future parents were able to see what dangerous situations can happen, seemingly in a safe house. Bare wires, detergents, first-aid kit with medicines — all this will easily interest a little researcher, but, unfortunately, can lead to tragedy. In addition, did not pass over the issue of the need to call emergency services in case of emergency. Future moms practiced this skill on simulators. In addition, all participants pass through a smoke maze and remember how to properly extinguish small fires with the help of improvised means and fire extinguisher. It is worth noting that similar classes are also held in regional safety centers.
