A youth anti-drug site was opened in the Educational Center of Safety of EMERCOM

A youth anti-drug site appeared in the Educational Center of Safety of the Ministry of Emergency Situations. This became possible thanks to funding from the capital’s municipal budget, as well as the support of law enforcement officers of the Department of Internal Affairs of the Minsk City Executive Committee.

The event was attended by Deputy Chairman of Minsk City Executive Committee Artem Tsuran, head of the Civil Defense University of the Ministry of Emergency Situations Ivan Polevoda and head of the Department of Drug Control and Combating Trafficking in Human Beings of the Main Department of Internal Affairs of Minsk City Executive Committee Kirill Berkozov.

The guests were told about the activities of the educational center of safety of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, presented samples of weapons and equipment of law enforcement officers.

The anti-drug playground consists of two interactive zones and is designed to highlight the social and health consequences of drug addiction, as well as to combat the spread of drugs.

The first one is called «Choices in a nightclub». Minors are given the opportunity to evaluate two types of developments. On the one hand, buying drugs in a nightclub and the further sad consequences for both the seller and the buyer. On the other hand — refusal from this step. The second location is the «Story of a convict» who was a pawnbroker and ended up with an impressive prison sentence.

For reference: 1,300 crimes related to drug trafficking were detected in Minsk this year. About 500 people were brought to justice. In 2022, 10 channels of drug supply to the territory of the country were revealed, 23 premises specially adapted for growing drug plants were liquidated. The work of seven online stores selling drugs was also eliminated.

The Educational Center of Safety of the Ministry of Emergency Situations is a three-storey building with a basement with a total area of 10,879 square meters. There are more than 30 interactive training sites on transport safety, emergency situations safety, civil defense, fire and environmental, as well as criminal safety, healthy lifestyle, dangerous meteorological phenomena, nuclear and radiation, industrial safety. By the way, by 2021 on the basis of the capital security center of the Ministry of Emergency Situations trained 75297 people, including 60434 children.
