Cuban Interior Minister Lázaro Alberto Álvarez Casas is on a working visit to Belarus. Today he met with Minister for Emergency Situations Vadim Sinyavsky at the Educational Center of Life Safety of the Ministry of Emergency Situations.

The leaders discussed issues within the framework of the cooperation agreement signed earlier. In particular, they discussed the training of personnel for Cuban rescue services. In cooperation with the Regional Russian-Cuban Center for Training of Rescuers and Firefighters, which is located in Havana, Cuba, and supported by the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations, it is possible to exchange specialists and organize training courses or seminars.

For reference: The Agreement on cooperation in the field of prevention and response to emergencies between the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Belarus and the Ministry of the Interior of the Republic of Cuba was signed in December 2023. Among the topical issues of cooperation identified by the parties, the international agreement reflects the following: exchange of experience in the field of prevention, elimination and response to emergencies, exchange of specialists and teachers, organization of training of rescuers in the educational institutions of the parties, preparation and implementation of joint projects of technical, social and humanitarian cooperation, as well as holding various joint events, etc.

Vadim Sinyavsky invited his colleague from Cuba to visit the II International Security Industry Exhibition «National Security. Belarus — 2024», which will be held in June.

Lázaro Alberto Álvarez Casas also got acquainted with the innovative capabilities and interactive technologies of the Educational Center of Safety of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, which are used by Belarusian rescuers to teach the population the basics of life safety. In addition, he visited the exhibition of the Research Institute of Fire and Emergency Situations, where the lines of equipment and personal protective equipment for rescuers-firefighters of Belarusian production are presented.

At the end of the tour Lázaro Alberto Álvarez Casas left a note in the book of honorary guests.
